As much as we would like to believe, and despite what some jewelry stores or online retailers tell you, diamonds are not traceable to their origins like an organic produce. From mining to selling, diamonds will pass through many people (miners, diamond cutters, wholesalers, retailers, and consumers), we can not expect all to be honest. There is no guarantee that the diamond has been ethically sourced but our promise to all of our customers is we will only work with vendors that are in full compliance with the Kimberley Process.
"The Kimberley Process started when Southern African diamond-producing states met in Kimberley, South Africa, in May 2000, to discuss ways to stop the trade in 'conflict diamonds' and ensure that diamond purchases were not financing violence by rebel movements and their allies seeking to undermine legitimate governments."
